Do you want to say something different in the automated email that goes out with your client intake questionnaire?
What each person would say will be different, and personal to the firm, but now you have the option to change it.
What does it say now?
Currently this is what it says -
Subject line of the email - Your invitation to FamilyProperty from {{from}}
Text of the email - This is an automated email to notify you that {{from}} from {{firm}} has invited you to provide her with some information using the FamilyProperty legal software platform.

How will that read in English? Well for Novus Law Group it would read -
Your invitation to FamilyProperty from Novus Law Group
This is an automated email to notify you that Janis Donnelly-Coode from Novus Law Group has invited you to provide her with some information using the FamilyProperty legal software platform.
To get started please register with this email address (this is the client's email). You can do this now by clicking the button below:
There will then be a button for them to click.
What should it say?
Now that default email is all fine and perfectly functional, and it is not worth getting stressed about if you have other things to attend to right now. When you do go to change it you don't have to re-invent the wheel, remember this email goes to someone who has already commited to working with you. You could start by simply putting your contact details at the bottom of the email, and perhaps your logo.
You definitely should not change this part unless you are positive you know what you are doing -

That is the part of the email that you really need to work, and honestly it is pretty pragmatic and therefore boring information so why risk fiddling with it.
Why am I changing it?
In order to answer the question what should it say, you should ask yourself the question why am I changing it?
What this email should say really depends on your firm, and so it is difficult to write a precedent for everyone (and that is why this particular precedent might seem boring).
Some reasons might include:
I want to re-inforce what I say to clients during the initial lead magnet process
I want to make it simpler to understand by thinking about it from the point of view of my average or ideal client
I want to remind them why they are getting this email
I want to include information about me or my firm
Do I need to give them instructions for what they should do if the online process is overwhelming, or if they do not have sufficient access (or sufficiently private access) to a computer with a data connection
In my case I know that by the time that a client is getting this email I have explained to them our online client intake process. Almost all of our clients are tech savvy because of the nature of our firm so I am less worried about explaining how to complete it, and more worried about reminding them why they are getting this email and what I want them to do with it. They are also almost certainly doing it on their mobile phone with us.
I have provided an example below for my job at Novus Law Group, which is a very relaxed and non traditional firm (we all work at home, mostly we deal with clients after 5pm and on weekends, no office land line they call us on our mobiles, and almost all of our new enquiries come to us through Facebook). I am also a very direct person so you may not say in an email "do this to save money" because that isn't how you communicate. It really depends on your firm's personality more than anything else.
If you want to copy and paste my text into your email template that is fine. What I have put in mine is:
As discussed we do a large part of our initial client intake process using this online questionnaire. This is a gentler process for you, as it is in plain English and you can go through it in your own time and literally in your own space. You can complete it on your mobile phone if that suits you. While the form does take some time to complete, it means I don't invest time in getting this information from you, and so that means you save some money.
If you are unsure how to get started then here is a blog post - How to complete the questionnaire
If you have any questions then please send me an email at janis@novuslawgroup.com.au or send me a text message at 0421 887 571
It is important that you use this email address to register to use the FamilyProperty questionnaire so that it links your questionnaire information to your matter.

Notice that I have not touched the key text, I have only highlighted it by giving it a heading. I have also uploaded my firm's logo to sit under my signature.
If you want to use that link to the instructions to complete the questionnaire you can, it is just sitting on our blog, here it is again.
If you want to style this into your own blog or into your own words then I am happy to send you the slides (the screen shots with the arrows and writing on top of them) to use in the way that suits your firm. Just send me an email at janisdc@familyproperty.com.au
